Let's talk about snacks!

More than simple "hunger breaker", salty, healthy and light snacks and snacks can play a fundamental role in ensuring the body has a correct and regular supply of energy.
Give me five!
5 meals a day to express the maximum level of energy at all times
well being. It's about respecting the so-called "three-hour rule", i.e. not
leave the body without refueling for more than three hours during the day:
breakfast at 7am, light snack at 10am, lunch at 1pm, another snack at
4pm, dinner more or less at 7pm. But if it's breakfast, lunch and dinner
considered the main meals, the morning snack and the afternoon snack
they also play a fundamental role in the balance of the whole day
food. In fact, if you skip them, the interval in which you stay increases too much
empty stomach and this not only makes you arrive at the next meal with a
exaggerated hunger, but the strange thing is that it also leads to preferring foods
more caloric, as confirmed by recent research carried out at Imperial
College of London: observing the brain of
people who had missed a meal, it was noticed that fasting activates the
brain areas linked to reward, which lead to preferring richer foods
of calories.
Healthy snacks? Perfect crackers
It is not difficult to indicate the nutritional profile that a snack should have
to best perform its functions: it should represent a sort of
“mini meal” that provides energy mainly from carbohydrates (easily
assimilable) and which also provides a fair share of proteins and fats.
A composition that allows you to easily choose between proposals
sweet and savory, in the name of the first principle of healthy eating:
vary your diet. And among healthy salty snacks there is no doubt that crackers
deserve particular attention. A normal consumption portion
provides less than 140 kcal, coming precisely from those complex carbohydrates
(first of all starch) which must constitute our main source of
energy, and crackers are an ideal accompaniment to protein foods and
low in calories (for example, ricotta) for light, healthy and balanced snacks.
An injection of good humor
Few people know it, but, beyond the positive influence on nutritional balance,
consuming a couple of healthy snacks throughout the day also helps
to mood stability. In fact, if the fast is prolonged and the level drops
glucose in the blood, the presence of insulin also decreases and increases
that of hormones that raise blood sugar, such as adrenaline and cortisol, i
so-called “stress hormones”.
Then, when choosing savory snacks, we favor those enriched with seeds
oily acids such as chia and flax, unparalleled sources of "good" fatty acids, e.g
mixed with cereals rich in proteins, fibers such as buckwheat, that's it
that the “well-being potential” grows further.
